FDA Disclaimer
To date, we are only aware of one clinical study that the FDA has performed regarding CBD. That study ultimately led to the approval of the drug Epidiolex, which is used to treat two rare forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. While it is obvious that the FDA has a lot of work to do, it leaves consumers with many questions regarding the effectiveness of CBD, hemp extract and other cannabinoids.
The FDA has made it clear that no provider of CBD can make health claims about their products.
Specifically, that these products are not approved by the FDA for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of any disease. This is due to the lack of clinical studies by the FDA regarding CBD related products.
While it is obvious that the FDA’s authority to regulate is well established, it is also obvious that the lack of FDA approvals does not necessarily mean that a dietary supplement is ineffective solely based on the lack of a clinical trial.
We want to be clear: INTRINSIC HEMP DOES NOT MAKE ANY HEALTH CLAIMS REGARDING OUR CBD AND HEMP EXTRACT PRODUCTS. Due to current laws, we simply cannot make any statements regarding our product’s ability to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
So where does that leave us?
We want to provide accurate information to our customers, and certainly do not want to mislead anyone regarding health benefits. We provide information in our blog posts detailing publicly available information of CBD related studies. We also provide actual first-hand experiences from our customers in the reviews section of our website. This material is provided for informational purposes only and is not provided to assert that any product we provide can diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
